Where: Winterthur, Switzerland
We were very excited to work with the Musikkollegium Winterthur for an education project and concert. High-school students from 4 schools in Winterthur were working on Music:Eyes animations for J.Brahms’ Symphony No.4, culminating in a performance with the Musikkollegium Winterthur Orchestra on December 7 2018 (Project Management: Oliver Hauser).

Where: Bonn, Germany
At the annual Beethovenfest in Bonn, birthplace of Beethoven, a team of “Schülermanagers” (“School managers”) worked on animations of L.v.Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The live performance with these animations, performed by the new Music:Eyes Ensemble consisting of young musicians of PODIUM Festival Esslingen and conducted by Etienne Abelin featured an arrangement for chamber orchestra by Fabrizio Tentoni and electronic interludes by DJ Alex Kordzaia aka kordz (Project Management: Etienne Abelin and Lushen Wu).

Where: Zurich, Switzerland
For the dynamic Zürcher Kammerorchester, Music:Eyes developed a visualization of Franz Schreker’s “Intermezzo” for strings that was performed in two performances (Project Management: Maximilian Whitcher).

Where: Zurich, Switzerland
In this project, students of the Förderklasse Musikkonservatorium Zürich (MKZ) visualized the four movements of L.v.Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony and then operated the synchronization crank tool in live performances with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich (Project Management: Maximilian Whitcher).

Where: Bern, Switzerland
Students from six high schools in the region of Bern worked together to create animations for I.Stravinsky’s concert suite “Firebird 1919”. The best animations were then projected on stage, live synchronized by the students with the Volkswagen crank tool, while the Bern Symphony Orchestra performed the piece live (Project Management: Etienne Abelin and Lushen Wu).

Where: Basel, Switzerland
In a partnership with the Basel Sinfonietta, one of Switzerland’s leading ensembles for contemporar music, high school students of Gymnasium Bäumlihof visualized pieces by Missy Mazzoli, Judd Greenstein and Philip Glass. They presented their animations in a live concert and also operated the synchronization VW crank tool. Before the performance, they presented their work to interested audience members in an exhibit in the lobby of the concert hall (Project Management: Irena Müller-Brozovic, Etienne Abelin, Mike Svoboda and Stephen Malinowski)
